La sala della Stazione Leopolda "Museo della città di Pisa", dove era ospitato il convegno "Norma Cossetto - La vicenda umana e storica e i rapporti con la città di Pisa", già alle ore 17.00, del 5 ottobre 2002, ora di inzio dei relatori, appariva, con i suoi cento posti a sedere completamete gremita, mentre numerose erano le persone in piedi e anche al di fuori della struttura.
Tanti accorsi per ricordare e per conoscere la triste storia di quella tragica fine, la cui prematura scomparsa vive ancora come un ricordo perpetuo nella memoria di molti Esuli e Discendenti, ma anche di tanti italiani, con anima e cuore. E non poteva essere altrimenti, per il 55° anniversario della morte della giovane istriana di Parenzo, uccisa a soli venti tre anni per il solo fatto di essere italiana. Torturata e seviziata per giorni la povera Norma fu buttata viva nella Foiba di Villa Surani (nelle due immagini in basso), con i polsi legati da un filo ferro. (Villa Surani è un piccolo borgo situato a due passi dal paese di Antignana. La sua Foiba è' tristemente famosa per l'infoibamento della povera Norma. Fonti ufficiali parlano anche di ventisei salme recuperate nel novembre del 1943, di cui ventuno riconosciute). Protagonisti i partigiani jugoslavi del maresciallo Tito.
Il moderatore dell'incontro, prof. Giuseppe Prosperi, ex sindaco di Pisa, ha dato l'inizio al congresso portando il saluto del Presidente della repubblica Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, il quale, nel telegramma inviato faceva i migliori auguri all'iniziativa e del presidente dell'ANVGD sen. Lucio Toth.
Presenti nel sala la sorella di Norma Cossetto, signora Licia, il dott. Guido Brazzoduro presidente della Federazione delle Associazioni degli Esuli, un europarlamentare e numerose autorità cittadine e politiche della Toscana.

The hall of the Leopolda Station "Museum of the city of Pisa", where was kept the conference "Norma Cossetto -The human and historical event and the relationships with the city of Pisa", already at 17.00 hr, 5 october 2002, time to start for the speakers, it appeared, with its one hundred sitting places completely full, while numerous people were standing and also outside of the facility.
Many came to remember and to know the sad story of that tragic end, whose premature disappearance still lives as a perpetual remembrance in the memory of many Exiles and their Descendants, but also of so many Italians, with soul and heart. And could not be otherwise, for the 55° anniversary of the death of the young Istrian from Parenzo, killed at only twenty three years old for the only reason to be italian. Tortured and raped for days the poor Norma was thrown live in the Foiba of Villa Surani (in the two images low), with the wrists tied with a thread of steel. (Villa Surani is a small situated village to two steps from the country of Antignana. Its sadly famous Foiba è' for the infoibamento of the poor Norma. Official sources speak also about twenty six emains recovered in the November of 1943, of which ventuno recognized). Protagonists marshal Tito’s yugoslav partisan.
Moderator of the meeting, professor Giuseppe Prosperi, ex mayor of Pisa, started the Congress bringing the regard of the President of the republic Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, which sent a telegram in which he made his best wishes to the initiative and of the president of the ANVGD senator Lucio Toth.
Present in the room the sister of Norma Cossetto, Mrs. Licia, Doctor Guido Brazzoduro president of the Federation of the Associations of the Exiles, member of the European Parliament and numerous city authorities and Toscany politicians.

Dopo il saluto della presidentessa dell'associazione Freedom prof. Paola Pisani e del delegato provinciale dell'ADES di Pisa, Amm. Aldo Reati ecco giungere il primo intervento. La dott.ssa Luciana Angiolini, assessore alla cultura del comune di Pisa, apre un breve discorso di riconoscimemto della tragedia delle foibe, ma sminuendone il valore in quanto parzialmente giustificato dal particolare momento storico (?), ma promettendo che l'amministrazione comunale locale avrebbe accolto con favore l'intitolazione della strada alla martire istriana. Contemporaneamente, per questo motivo, il segretario dell'ADES Reati, ha consegnato la richiesta scritta firmata da entrambe le associazioni che hanno organizzato il congresso. La petizione era anche firmata da circa cento persone e dai presidenti delle dieci associazioni nazionali che hanno aderito all'iniziativa. Infatti ben dieci sono state le associazione e i circoli che hanno dato la propria adesione all'evento, valutando e sostenendo tale progetto. Tra loro Continuità Adriatica con sede a Monfalcone, il circolo Norma Cossetto di Trieste, il Movimento Nazionale-Istria Fiume Dalmazia con sede a Milano e la sezione giovanile dell' Unione degli Istriani con sede a Trieste.
A seguire l'intervento dell'iscritta all'ANVGD di Firenze, Myriam Andreatini Sfilli che ha ampiamente descritto la tragica fine di Norma, ma anche di altre giovani infoibate in Istria nel dopoguerra. Poi, a finire, quello del giornalista Giorgio Piccioni, istriano e dell'area di centro-sinistra che ha suscitato nel pubblico presente diverse e varie reazioni, difronte ad un intervento tipicamente della sua area politica.... Non è mancato il saluto del presidente della Federazione delle Associazioni degli Esuli, oltre ad alcuni interventi di rappresentanti di diverse formazioni politiche.
Un dibattito molto colorito che non ha mancato di interessare i numerosi giovani e meno giovani presenti.

Contemporarily, for this motive, the secretary of the ADES Reati delivered the written application signed by both the associations that have organized the congress. The petition was also signed by about one hundred people and by the presidents of the ten national associations that have stuck to the initiative. In fact as much as ten have been the associations and the circles that have given their own support to the event, appraising and sustaining such project. Among them Continuità Adriatica with center to Monfalcone, the circle Norma Cossetto in Trieste, the Movimento Nazionale-Istria Fiume Dalmazia with center in Milano and the youth section of the Unione degli Istriani with center in Trieste.
Following the intervention of the affiliate to the ANVGD in Firenze, Myriam Andreatini Sfilli that broadly described the tragic end of Norma, but also of other young ones thrown in Istria’s foibas in the postwar period. Then, to conclude, that of the Istrian journalist Giorgio Piccioni, of the center-left persuasion that has aroused in the public present different and various reactions, in front of an intervention typically of his political persuasion.... The regard of the president of the Federation of the Associations of the Exiles was not to be missed; further some interventions of representatives of different political formations.
A very colorful debate that did not fail to catch the interest of the numerous young and less young people present.
